SecondBrain
A professional database that grows every day. The idea is simple: you cannot remember everything, and that is fine. SecondBrain remembers for us.
The Vault
Over 11 years in the field, you pile up engagements, technologies, accomplishments, contacts, and lessons learned. The problem is that our brain is not built to hold all of it, and that is normal.
So we built a structured Obsidian vault that captures all of it. Each engagement has a detailed sheet covering its context, role, responsibilities, technologies used, and concrete results. Each technology has its own page, and each area of expertise is documented with the projects that prove it.
Today the vault holds more than 300 expertise sheets, around twenty detailed engagements, and hundreds of cross-references. And it grows every day as we work.
Recherche QMD
A well-filled vault is good. Being able to ask it questions in natural language is better. That is the role of QMD: Query My Data.
In practice, you can ask things like "Find my experience with Kubernetes in an enterprise context" or "Which engagements show my ability to simplify technical concepts?". The system searches the vault, cross-references the relevant sheets, and returns a structured answer in a few seconds.
It is like having an assistant who has read and memorized your entire career. Except this one never forgets.
Le Pipeline
The natural step after QMD was to automate the creation of professional documents. We built a complete pipeline, from sourcing opportunities all the way to a ready-to-send PDF.
We identify an opportunity, the system analyzes the role's requirements, queries SecondBrain to find the most relevant experience, then generates a tailored resume and cover letter. All in HTML first (to iterate easily), then in PDF for sending.
What used to take hours of writing and tailoring now takes a fraction of the time. And above all, every document is grounded in real data.
The Philosophy
The real power of SecondBrain is the principle behind it. The more you document, the more you can afford to forget. And the more you forget, the more valuable the system becomes.
It is a compound investment. Each sheet added today makes every future search richer. The engagement we document this month might help with an application two years from now, and we will not need to remember the details.
We believe every professional should have their own SecondBrain, in their own stack, built on one idea: your career is too rich to trust to memory alone.
