Speedrun Academy

More than a game: a community experience built live. We developed a 3D platformer on Steam in full collaboration with Quebec's speedrunning community.

Patch 'Jungle'

[Planned 2026]

The story does not stop at launch. We keep the game alive with major updates, like the well-known Patch 'Jungle' that introduces new mechanics and expanded environments.

Early Access Steam

[May 2025]

The official early access launch on Steam. A major step to validate the core mechanics with a wider audience, especially our "Gainers" and "Vertical Gainer" system.

The idea is simple: perfect jumps let players build speed and verticality, opening unexpected shortcuts in visually vibrant environments (from molten volcanoes to frozen peaks). It is a first-person game where everything revolves around momentum.

Integrating Steam Leaderboards instantly pushed players to outdo themselves and carve their name at the top of the world rankings.

In the very first week, a QoL patch shipped with a new visual identity, a level select screen, a fully playable tutorial, and a secret level. Development always followed the priorities set by the community, with no rigid roadmap, working on whatever motivated the team in the moment.

Here are a few reviews left by our first players:

"If you want a 3d platformer to speedrun then this was made for it. Speedrun academie has a pretty interesting concept where coyote jumps makes you gain more speed and jump higher so it's a risk vs reward thing that is really fun to master. The level has 4 sections and it compares your split to your personal best without the need for livesplit. Just look at my hours, 5 hours for a level I've managed to beat in less than 2 min 10 sec, definitively worth if you like speedrunning."

GamieonGame Developer (Field of Heroes)

"I normally don't play speedrun games, but I had a positive experience with this one. The perfect jump which builds your overall speed and jump length, and the golden path which gets you the best time make for a rich gameplay experience. There is something here for both hard core speed runners who run for perfection, and casual players who are satisfied with finishing a challenging course. Overall a fun game you can pick up and play."

"Cool little speedrun parkour game! The kind of game that you first beat in 30 minutes but you will most likely spend a few extra hours grinding for a better run and a spot on the leaderboard. I hope to see more levels and some secrets soon!"

NoReset6 Event

[March 2025]

The culmination of these months of community development came with our official participation in the NoReset6 charity event in Montreal.

We orchestrated a 30-minute live segment end to end: from the technical planning (setup), to hosting on stage in front of a passionate crowd, to the full organization of a competitive speedrun tournament on our own game.

The tournament format was built for show: a 4-player Free For All all at once. The rule was simple: Best time only, reset allowed. Players had a time limit to record the best possible time, free to restart their run endlessly to aim for perfection.

Proposal & Live Development

[Dec 2024 - Jan 2025]

Michael had the chance to take part in a reality TV show broadcast on Twitch. After passing the auditions and getting confirmation of his spot, he reached out directly to the host with a bold idea: build an integrated speedrun challenge on a custom game, capturing the humor and unique flavor of the show.

Design and development of a custom Steam game for the community. The emphasis was on live development on Twitch, creating a fast feedback loop and unprecedented community engagement.

Very quickly, teammates joined the project directly through the live development on Twitch. The transparency of the process and the energy of the community naturally drew collaborators who wanted to contribute to the adventure.

Jern Jam

[Fall 2024]

In two weeks, we designed and shipped Giddy Protocol, an FPS bow shooter + parkour where the player has to escape a simulation while a sarcastic AI robot taunts them relentlessly. Jam theme: "IT WON'T DIE".

The game combines precise shooting mechanics with fast platforming, topped with comedic narration: the AI robot harasses the player at every obstacle. Ranked among 17 submissions, Giddy Protocol swept: 1st place Sound Design, 2nd place Gameplay, and 2nd place overall.

The community feedback was unanimous: the level of polish was surprising for a game made in two weeks, with a special mention for the sound design and the AI robot, called "annoying as planned" by several players. The gameplay was described as fast and catchy, solid enough to finish in one sitting.
